Background-

Business travel saved French employees 410,000 work hours in 2025, adding an estimated 52 million euros in value to the economy, according to a new study by Uber for Business and research firm Public First.

The report looked at business travel across France, the UK and Australia. Researchers surveyed 189 employees who use Uber for Business and 232 business decision makers. They combined these results with usage data and an economic model built partly on work from Oxford Economics.

The study measured value in four areas: business growth, time savings, cost control and employee experience. Time savings alone were worth 29 million euros in France, with regular business travellers saving up to 38 hours a year, almost a full working week.

Researchers also found that Uber for Business use led to 130,000 extra face to face client meetings in 2025, an 8.7% rise. Employees in business development saw up to 28 additional meetings each.

Centralising travel bookings on one platform helped companies avoid 168,000 trips that broke travel policy, saving 4.7 million euros. Still, only 43% of employees called the service cost effective, compared with 66% of decision makers.

On safety, 53% of employees said they felt safer using Uber for Business than other ride services, while 74% said it helped them work more efficiently.

Paul-Etienne Fremaux, France commercial director for Uber for Business, said well managed employee travel can become a real driver of company performance, not just a cost.
