Three former Meta and Google executives have launched Majestic Labs, a startup that has raised $100 million to develop a new server architecture aimed at reducing data center costs for cloud and AI companies.

The founders, Ofer Shacham, Sha Rabii, and Masumi Reynders, previously led major silicon design projects at Google and Meta. Their new venture promises a patent-pending chip system offering up to 1,000 times more memory than typical enterprise servers. Each Majestic server could replace up to 10 conventional racks, cutting costs related to space, power, and cooling.

Majestic closed a $71 million Series A round in September, led by Bow Wave Capital, with participation from Lux Capital. The company has been quietly developing since late 2023 and plans to release prototype servers by 2027. It is already discussing pre-orders.

CEO Ofer Shacham said Majestic is not competing directly with Nvidia but targeting memory-heavy AI workloads, which often face bottlenecks due to limited compute-to-memory ratios. The startup aims to serve hyperscalers and large, AI-driven firms in industries such as finance and pharmaceuticals.

Majestic has fewer than 50 employees working in offices in Los Altos, California, and Tel Aviv, Israel. The company plans to grow both offices in 2026.

The three founders met at Google and later led the Facebook Agile Silicon Team (FAST) at Meta. After the 2023 layoffs, they started Majestic. Their experience in chip design helps the startup improve data center efficiency and AI infrastructure.

As major tech companies spend more on data centers, Majestic’s new technology could give the fast-growing AI market a cheaper and more scalable option.
